Posting Rules


These rules keep Souk Okaz a trustworthy marketplace for everyone in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Please read them before creating your first listing.


1. What You Can Post

The following types of listings are welcome on Souk Okaz:


  • New & Used Personal Items: Electronics, clothing, furniture, books, sporting goods, toys, and household items in any condition, as long as the condition is accurately described.

  • Vehicles: Cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles you legally own. Include accurate details such as year, mileage, and known issues.

  • "Wanted" Listings: Posts where you are looking to buy a specific item. Clearly state what you want, your budget, and your city.

  • Business Listings: Products sold by registered businesses are welcome. Each product must be listed as a separate ad and must represent actual available inventory.

2. Listing Quality Standards

All listings must meet the following standards:


  • Accurate Title & Description: Your title must accurately describe the item. Descriptions must not be misleading. Do not include phone numbers, social media handles, or external links in the title.

  • Real Photos Only: Upload actual photos of the item you are selling. Stock images or photos downloaded from the internet are not permitted, unless you are a registered business selling new, sealed goods.

  • Correct Category: Post your item in the most relevant category and subcategory. Miscategorised listings may be removed or moved.

  • One Listing Per Item: Do not post the same item multiple times. Duplicate listings will be removed. You may edit or renew an existing listing instead.

  • Honest Condition Disclosure: Accurately select the item's condition (New / Used / For Parts). Disclose any defects, repairs, or missing accessories in the description.

  • Price Must Be Stated: All "For Sale" listings must include a price. "Price on request" or blank prices are not permitted. For negotiable prices, state the asking price and mention "negotiable" in the description.

3. Prohibited Listings

The following items and content are never allowed on Souk Okaz:


  • Illegal & Controlled Items: Weapons, ammunition, drugs, controlled substances, alcohol, and any item whose sale is prohibited by law in Qatar or Saudi Arabia.

  • Counterfeit & Stolen Goods: Fake, replica, or stolen items of any kind. This includes counterfeit luxury goods, pirated software, and unlicensed media.

  • Living Animals: The sale of animals is not permitted on Souk Okaz at this time.

  • Services & Job Listings: Souk Okaz is a goods marketplace. Service offerings, job advertisements, and recruitment posts are not permitted.

  • Adult & Offensive Content: Listings containing sexually explicit content, hate speech, discriminatory language, or material that violates community standards.

  • Scams & Fraudulent Listings: Items offered at prices that are clearly deceptive, phishing attempts, requests for advance payments, or any form of fraud.

  • Spam & Mass Posting: Automated bulk posting, identical listings, or using the platform to distribute promotional content unrelated to a specific item for sale.

Listings involving illegal items, fraud, or counterfeit goods will be removed immediately and the account will be permanently banned without warning.


4. Enforcement

We review reported listings and take action based on the severity of the violation. Our moderation team may act proactively or in response to user reports.


  • First Offence: Listing removed and a warning issued to the account.

  • Repeated Violations: Temporary account suspension (7–30 days).

  • Severe or Illegal Violations: Immediate and permanent account termination.

  • Legal Matters: Referred to relevant authorities where required by law.

To report a listing, use the "Report" button on any listing, select a reason, and submit. Our team will review reports within 24 hours on business days.
