Terms of Service


1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Souk Okaz mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use of the App immediately.


These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Souk Okaz for Advertising and Promotion, Doha, Qatar ("we," "us," or "the Company").


Note: These Terms apply to all users in Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the App is currently available.


2. Platform Description

Souk Okaz is a mobile marketplace application that connects buyers and sellers for new and used goods. The platform allows users to:


  • Browse categorized classified advertisements

  • Post listings for items for sale or items wanted

  • Communicate directly with other users via phone or WhatsApp

  • Search and filter listings by category, condition, city, and other attributes

  • Promote listings as featured advertisements

Souk Okaz acts solely as a platform connecting buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between users and do not facilitate payments, escrow, or delivery services.


3. Eligibility & Registration

To use the App, you must:


  • Be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction

  • Hold a valid mobile number registered in Qatar (+974) or Saudi Arabia (+966)

  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration

  • Agree not to create multiple accounts or accounts on behalf of others without authorization

Registration is completed via mobile number and OTP verification. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and all activity that occurs under it.


4. User Responsibilities

As a user of Souk Okaz, you agree to:


  • Provide accurate descriptions, images, and pricing in your listings

  • Respond to inquiries in good faith and honour agreed transactions

  • Not misrepresent the condition, authenticity, or ownership of any item

  • Keep your account information current and accurate

  • Use the contact features solely for purposes related to listed items

  • Comply with all applicable laws of Qatar and/or Saudi Arabia

5. Listings & Content

When you post a listing on Souk Okaz, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and promote that content within the platform.


You represent and warrant that:


  • You are the rightful owner of the item or are authorised to sell it

  • All images uploaded belong to you or you have rights to use them

  • The listing does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights

  • The item is legal to sell in the applicable country

We reserve the right to remove any listing at our discretion without prior notice if it violates these Terms or our Posting Rules.


6. Prohibited Activities

The following are strictly forbidden on Souk Okaz:


  • Listing counterfeit, stolen, or illegally obtained goods

  • Selling weapons, controlled substances, or items prohibited under Qatari or Saudi law

  • Posting misleading, fraudulent, or duplicate listings

  • Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users

  • Spamming users through the contact or comment features

  • Attempting to circumvent the platform's features or security measures

  • Creating fake accounts or manipulating engagement metrics

  • Posting content that is offensive, discriminatory, or defamatory

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account suspension and, where required by law, reporting to relevant authorities.


7. Featured Ads

Users may choose to mark their listings as "Featured" to increase visibility within the App. Featured ad placement is managed automatically by the platform based on availability.


Featured status does not imply endorsement of the listing or its seller by Souk Okaz. All featured ads remain subject to these Terms and our Posting Rules.


8. Intellectual Property

The Souk Okaz name, logo, application design, and all associated content are the exclusive property of Souk Okaz for Advertising and Promotion. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without prior written consent.


User-generated content (listings, photos, descriptions) remains the property of the respective users, subject to the licence granted to us under Section 5.


9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any listing or user-generated content.


Souk Okaz is not liable for:


  • Any losses arising from transactions between users

  • The quality, safety, legality, or delivery of any listed item

  • Disputes between buyers and sellers

  • Technical interruptions or data loss

Users transact at their own risk. We strongly recommend meeting in public places and verifying items before completing any exchange.


10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms, without prior notice. Users may also delete their own accounts at any time through the Settings section of the App.


Upon termination, your listings will be removed and your access to the platform will cease. Content already shared with other users may remain visible to them.


11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Qatar. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Qatar.


For users in Saudi Arabia, local applicable regulations shall also apply where mandated by law.
